Apple Launches Apple Business Platform for Small Businesses

Apple’s free Apple Business platform launches April 14, 2026, combining device management, email, calendar, and customer tools in one dashboard.

Apple on March 24 announced Apple Business, a free platform that bundles device management, business email, calendar, and customer engagement tools into a single dashboard. It goes live on April 14, 2026, in more than 200 countries and regions.

The platform replaces three existing services that Apple plans to shut down at launch: Apple Business Essentials, Apple Business Manager, and Apple Business Connect. Existing data from those services will migrate automatically, according to Apple’s newsroom. Businesses already paying for Business Essentials will no longer be charged monthly device management fees after April 14.

For small businesses, the practical upside is straightforward. Apple Business includes built-in mobile device management (MDM) with a feature called Blueprints, which lets an owner or IT person preconfigure app installs and security settings and push them to new devices automatically. That means less manual setup every time you hand an employee a new iPhone or Mac.

The platform also adds business email, calendar, and a company directory under your own custom domain name. Until now, Apple-first small businesses often relied on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for those basics. Apple is now offering a native alternative at no added cost for the core features.

There are optional paid add-ons. Extra iCloud storage starts at $0.99 per user per month, and AppleCare+ for Business starts at $6.99 per month per device, as MacRumors reported. The platform also integrates with Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID for account provisioning, so businesses already using those identity providers can connect them.

A new local advertising option in Apple Maps is expected this summer in the U.S. and Canada, letting businesses with a physical location create paid ads that show up in Maps search results. That feature will not be available at the April 14 launch.

One important caveat for small businesses. The companion Apple Business app and the email, calendar, and directory features will require iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26. Devices running older software will not have access to the full feature set, so businesses will want to check which operating systems their team’s devices can support before planning a switch.

Apple Business is accessible at business.apple.com starting April 14. Owners who already use any of the three predecessor services do not need to take action before then.
